After extensive searching using all the shipping data on the PROV ( Public Records of Victoria ) website I believe that Ellen arrived on the ship the Tudor along with 388 immigrants. According to the ships manifesto Ellen went to work for a Mr Monaghan of Moonee Ponds.
I researched the music of County Clare and all our family stories talk about the music the old family played. Patsy ( Patrick) my great grandfather and Ellen’s brother was a great fiddler and taught all his girls to play. One of them was Bridget my grandmother. I feel sure that Ellen would have played her fiddle on the long voyage to Australia.
